SUMMER TIME

I can't believe school starts in 2 weeks. It's hard to see summer end. We've had a lot of fun.

First, we moved houses. Our new address is 4422 E Gold Poppy Way Phoenix, AZ 85044. We are now renting a one story house with a pool. We have mixed feelings on a 1-story house, but LOVE the pool. Not sure we could live without one now.

We went camping on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson and got very dirty. It's amazing that we can drive just a few hours south of here and drop at least 20*. Last year we played in a stream that flows near the ski resort, but it was dry this time. I guess we have to wait for the monsoons to fill it up again. The kids hiked around and played fort games the whole time. They should live in the country - Derek especially. He is a dirt magnet and loves to be outside.

We also went to Spokane to visit Grandpa and Grandma Ashby. A week at the lake cabin is good for the soul...

although, I think by the end, Grandpa was pretty tuckered out and Grandma needed a break from the crazies.
The 4th of July was one of the best we've ever had. Everyone shot off fireworks all around the lake - a show that lasted at least 2 hours. Brian's favorite holiday is the 4th of July. He just shows up and the food and entertainment is already planned. And this year topped them all.

The best part of Spokane for me was watching the boys relive my favorite parts of being a kid - visiting cousins, staying up late, shucking corn, and climbing trees. We all had a great trip. Thanks for the visit Mom and Dad!!
Now, we're back in town, swim lessons are almost over and it's time to go school supply shopping. For the rest of you - enjoy your last month of summer!

Awesome job Suzi. Cool that we can keep up with the blog. Sad that we never see each other. Let's set up a Sat. night out.
